Tabletop luminaires in offices

Alternatives to traditional desk lamps in office design

It is well known that the flexos provide direct lighting on the work area. However, in the new office design we found others lighting systems, equally effective, but with the advantage that they take up almost no space on the work surface. We show you some examples.

Luminaires in work areas

Luminaires on multiple workstations

At present, the presence of the computer and the keyboard in the workplace is prioritized. Therefore, having a traditional lamp it becomes little operational, since it is valuable space for other devices. For this reason, they have introduced street lamps, with cold LED lights that fall on two facing desks. The wiring goes from the ground through a square tube of lacquered steel, which is attached to the horizontal spotlight. The light intensity It is designed to provide the necessary light without dazzling the user and without reflecting on the computer.

Luminaires in workplaces

In this other office, we can appreciate the same lantern system as if it were a floor lamp, with the luminaire horizontal, placed in the opening between the bullion tables. Each element illuminates two workstations, since the light panel it is divided in two, with independent mechanisms; that is, if there is only one person working from the two facing positions, only that side can be turned on. These lights are also extremely stable, unlike the lamps, which are subject to the movement of the table.

Workstation luminaires

Table and lamps in a single element

The ingenious design of this workplace It is based on a board for six work stations, supported by two triangle brackets at the ends which, in turn, support a linear luminaire. This allows the entire work surface to be completely free and even, with only one cable gland cover on each side. Each section or post is, in turn, divided and reinforced by square legs lacquered in black, which makes them go completely unnoticed. The linear, in addition, also creates a ambient lighting, since it not only falls on the table, but also bounces off the wall, creating a very atmospheric lighting effect.

floor lamps

integrated luminaires

In this case, the luminaires are integrated into the central rule, that has a horizontal electrification system under the table. Although the appearance is similar to that of a table lamp, the quality and intensity of the light and the rigid support offer a modern and functional appearance: with only four elements you can illuminate twelve jobs which implies greater efficiency and energy savings.

work lights

flying screens

These round lampshades in the shape of flying saucer They could well be suspended from the ceiling and form a set of hanging lamps. However, the system is, like the previous ones, clampable on the table, which makes it easier for each lamp to be handled in a different way. independent. In this case, being a multifunctional area for meetings and other activities, the lighting is not so direct, but it is adequate enough to work.

linear luminaires

linear luminaires

Generally, linear luminaires they are installed from the ceiling, but in this office, each workstation was equipped with its own light, installed from the table, through a cylindrical tube that folds horizontally with a tile-like hood that hides the LED tube. The tubes, unlike other examples seen, are not placed in the center of the table, but rather in the extremes, since its design is irregular. The truth is that, as a whole, it is a very unique and decorative way of using this type of lighting.

work lights

library style

For these offices of coworking, wooden tables were made to measure, each one with its electrical outlets for charging devices, embedded in a wooden plank. On it was placed a polished metal lamp, that hides three LED tubes (one for two workstations). The design, both of the tables and the lighting, is in keeping with the building, a magnificent example of brutalist style built by Belgian architect Constantin Brodzki. The lighting system is inspired by the ancient public libraries de la ciudad.
