Corporate image in office design

When the corporate image takes over the design

Companies take special care of their corporate image through the interior designs of their offices. This logical concern for safeguarding the image of the company is often carried out from different positions or aesthetic perspectives. There are companies that, due to the very nature of their activity (legal, juridical, financial, governmental, etc.) prefer to give a image of seriousness, respect or moderation that they transmit in the aesthetics of their offices. Sober colours, timeless furniture, high-quality materials, impeccable execution or discreet elegance may be some of its hallmarks.

On the opposite side, there are those companies that are committed to a full integration of your product, logo or corporate image in the interior design project. It is certainly a riskier bet and, why not say it, more fun. We present some examples where the corporate identity is more than present –we could say that it invades– the interior design project.

Corporate image in offices

Boston Celtics offices

We enter the central offices of the Boston Celtics Basketball Team, Designed by Genesler. Only the access to the building is a declaration of intent: through a long corridor paved with the wooden parquet from the famous Celtics field, a tunnel illuminates in green (the team's corporate color) the banners of the seasons in which they have been crowned NBA champions. There's nothing like converting trophies in decorative elements to enhance the brand image that, by the way, is nothing new.

In these cases, the logo and corporate colors have an emotional effect and are seen as banners, flags or shields of the community that works in the company. There is a "business" spirit that invades the space and that makes those who bear these signs or are part of them feel especially proud.

Heineken employees play a hybrid work with technology that helps the work system to be fluid even at home or in the office. The new office also reflects the company's passion for brewing great beers for over 150 years by presenting all the internationally renowned brands and local products in all the rooms of the office, from the entrance to the multi-station or meeting area. To cultivate a unique experience within the office, a bar where employees and visitors can enjoy Heineken's “always fresh” product.

The references historical to the brand (start, dates, milestones, awards, etc.) become a symbology, as we pointed out above, which is used as decorative element charged with an especially powerful brand ideological connotation.

Coca-Cola Perhaps it is the company, par excellence, that has developed the most and best brand identity strategy: its logo has hardly changed in 130 years, the bottles have subtly modified the original shape and, of course, no one knows the exact formula of Coca Cola, which makes it inimitable.
