The department Limobel Inwo R&D is constantly searching for trends, innovation and design, to create a work furniture very specific that meets the needs of the modern work environment.

For this reason, together with the Marketing department, we are carrying out a complete report on the evolution of the design of work spaces and office furniture.

The objective of the study is to analyze current trends and develop a 2024 report, that sheds light on the needs and lines of action that will mark the furniture design in the work context. A broad and global approach, which not only focuses on furniture design, but also on the work environment, based on four interrelated basic precepts: sustainability, health and well-being, technology and design.

Who is the report addressed to?

Through two questionnaires, aimed at two groups involved in the office furniture consumption chain: professional clients and prescribers, and end user

As office furniture manufacturers, we consider it essential to be up to date with the latest trends and needs of our clients. Thanks to the opinions of professionals, at Limobel Inwo we will be able to propose new development approaches of our collections and products.

Research lines

Sustainability, health and well-being, technology and design There are four very broad concepts that we want to synthesize through our questionnaires with specific questions that are situated both in the present and in an ideal situation. In this way we will know what are the actual needs, as well as the ideals to project in the future.

Sustainability: This term, which covers a wide spectrum of actions, must be specified in the furniture and work environment sector. We are interested in discovering where environmental interest is focused, both the professional and the end user, in regards to furniture and work spaces: energy efficiency, furniture and materials with ecological certification, recycling, waste minimization, etc. In this way, from Limobel Inwo We will focus on each of these interests.

Health & Wellness: At this point, we want to explore all the avenues that the professional and the user consider beneficial for their wellness and health (one thing does not always imply the other), from the general appreciation of the environment (natural light, colors, acoustics, visual beauty, biophilia, etc.), to the needs individuals (furniture ergonomics, flexibility, disconnection spaces, etc.). Basically, it is about understanding how the environment can influence states such as stress, emotions, memory or productivity. This will help us better understand the user needs and desires to develop designs according to them.Technology: The great challenge of the XNUMXst century has been to adapt the great technological revolution to our home and work environments. But this challenge is still beginning, and it is likely that in the coming decades technology will advance so quickly that we must be able to keep up with its incessant evolution, adapting work environments to new practices, uses, devices, etc. We wonder how it will impact the Artificial Intelligence and augmented reality in our work, the Internet of Things (IoT) that will connect all devices to a collective network or the universe wireless, where the cables will disappear. All of this will affect the work environment, and we want to be prepared.

Design: We leave for last the no less important (and broad) concept of design. As furniture manufacturers, we have design in our DNA, to which we have been incorporating the aforementioned precepts for years: sustainability with ecodesign, ISO, LEED, PEFC and FSC quality seals and certificates. For its part, Limobel Inwo furniture has a careful ergonomic design that ensures wellness and health the user, through an exhaustive anatomical study of the appropriate postures for working.
