This law firm, specialized in legal issues of the entertainment industry located in Los Angeles, was designed and completely renovated by And And Studio, captained by Annie Ritz and Daniel Rabin.
When the firm decided to hire Ritz and Rabin to design the office, it was not clear whether to stay in the current office or move to another building. Staying meant renovate the entire plant, since they needed more private offices for lawyers and to improve the common areas. They also needed to re-evaluate and rethink the aesthetics of the existing office space. Ritz and Rabin guided the client to maintain the aesthetics of the space. Sqm 6.700 and make a comprehensive work pulling down the existing office.

In search of the Mid Century essence
The objective was to achieve, from the entrance, that the space was diaphanous, open and more like a hotel lobby than an office, following the current trend of the hotelization of offices, which we talked about a while ago.
The design is clearly inspired by the style Mid Century with great presence of the wood and daring fabrics golds and greens. Upon entering the reception area, clients and visitors are greeted by a magnificent custom reception desk with tiling vertical format in gloss finish, collectible Rombini, designed by the brothers Bouroullec for the Mutini firm.

Waiting area
In the same reception area, a pair of leather armchairs Sling Club, from the Bassam Fellows firm, surround a marble table. All the walls have been paneled with oak wood in honey tone, like the floor, laid in a Hungarian point. The Italian-designed lamps have opal glass shades.

Offices and private areas
In the new spatial reorganization Private offices were replaced by more welcoming and functional common spaces for the entire office.
Still, more than 1000 were planned. 30 private offices, although smaller, in keeping with the new layout of a modern and open office. As a counterpart, the common areas were designed so that work could be done in them, in a comfortable and functional environment. A professional was even hired landscape to create scenes biophilic in keeping with the aesthetics of the project.

Elegant boardroom
At boardroom The game of the little ones is replicated Mutina ceramic pieces on a column that divides a bench. In the center, it was placed Meeting table oval with sturdy bases, all made of matte black stained wood. The carpet Under the table was placed flush with the floor, so that the leather chairs, Soft Pad Chair, designed by the Eames, could slide without scratching the parquet.

The Lounge
The offices they have a lounge, to hold informal team meetings and meals or to receive clients. All the furniture pieces They are incredibly contemporary, but at the same time retain an aftertaste of the Mid Century very authentic. The shades of the velvets The seats, in saffron and terracotta, are typical of that era, but in these spaces they come back to life with an unquestionable modernity.

The kitchen and the office
Both spaces form a unit with the living area of the Lounge, so it has three areas for holding different events. The stone, with an imposing green Brazilian marble on the countertop and front, matches the velvet of the chairs and plants, strategically placed. The chairs are a design of Eero Saarin 50 the years.
Also stone is present in the travertine marble table, by the Gubi firm, a material that is repeated throughout the decoration and that, together with the wood and velvet, takes on great decorative importance.

Library
Is this a informal meeting space and homely, a quiet reading corner and a space of calm in general. This room was conceived as a counterpoint to the rest of the office, with wooden roofs, brick tile floors, dark blue and green walls and plenty of natural light. The large amount and variety of personal items (paintings, books, sculptures, ceramics, etc.) helps to create a very comfortable, “living room” feeling, which was ultimately the goal of the studio.
And from the first sketch to the final delivery, Rabin and Ritz, from And And Studio, have made a holistic approach of the project. For them, there is no border between architecture, interior design and design, so they try to create works that reflect that spirit.
