The office of the future of a technology company

The prestigious study LYCS Architecture He was in charge of the project for the headquarters of JOYE Technology in Hangzhou, China, a technology company dedicated to the electrification of furniture, especially office.

The project focused on creating a continuous three-dimensional environment incorporating elements similar to those clouds to get a space refreshing and futuristic.

Office of the future in a cloud

The offices cover an area of approximately 5.000 square meters, which include extensive areas for research and development, work areas, meeting rooms, exhibition halls and leisure and entertainment areas.

The really formidable thing about this design is its frame structure by means of sheets of the forging, like ribs that wrap the content. The same forging defines the traffic routes, while creating distinct areas and breaking down boundaries between walls, floors and roof. The use of organically flowing white curves transforms the multi-level space into a continuous three-dimensional environment, providing a luminous experience.

The lobby and distributor

The lobby revolves around a two-story atrium, which reminds us of the sea of clouds created between the peaks of the mountain ranges. The design features low-hanging cumulus clouds, connecting the exhibition hall and meeting area at both ends of the atrium. These snow-white clouds gently descend from the ceiling, floating like a soft, flowing fabric, creating a welcoming and iconic large-scale image.

Office of the future

On the first floor there is a open living room surrounding two glass-enclosed meeting rooms. The second floor houses a large multi-purpose room, where the combination of bars, glass and stepped seats creates a subtle sense of suspension between fullness and emptiness.

The winding staircase

The meeting area is accessed via a «cloud ladder» of delicate curves. White linear elements blur the boundaries between ceiling, walls and staircase, integrating conventional architectural components and creating a space with an atmosphere of innovation that breaks with tradition.

Exposition halls

The first floor exhibition space begins with the product showroom. The space is divided into segments by grids and linear elements, with JOYE's electrification products located at various points within the spatial matrix. A central platform serves as a stage for the products. demonstrations.

Beyond the exhibition hall area, the space is transformed into a series of exhibitions based on Scenarios, as if moving through parallel spaces, showing the different dimensions of JOYE's solutions. These displays cover various products in different environments, such as the home, office, education and healthcare.

The time tunnel

Unlike the spatial juxtaposition of the exhibition halls on the first floor, the one on the second floor is organized around a timeline. The hall of honour, resembling a black box, houses the company's past achievements. Upon exiting the exhibition hall, visitors pass through a temporary corridor which shows the company's milestones and connects to the production factory, which represents the company's current operations. The past and the future are displayed simultaneously, creating a space that activates customer perception and interaction.

Walking on the steps of the clouds

The office area on the top floors also revolves around a two-storey atrium. The original floor plan had a displaced central layout, resulting in poor lighting in central areas. To address this, the design opens up two floors and introduces a skylight practicable that provides sunlight and fresh air.

Office of the future

In the center of the atrium a huge runway cloud-shaped two-storey building that blurs the boundaries between the two office floors. At either end of the walkway are discussion areas, storage and printing rooms, with the work areas arranged around the staircase.

A walk on clouds

El corridor in the form of a cloud is composed of white vertical elements, with sunlight filtering through the louvers, creating a bright and orderly spatial environment. As the sun rises and sets, the scenery changes, allowing employees to fully relax their minds during work hours. work breaks. This, moreover, becomes the distinctive and iconic feature of the company's identity.
